This foundation is focused on supporting culture and education in Jefferson County for people 17 or older. No college experience is needed and people aren’t required to have a high school diploma or GED. All the tuition, books, course materials, childcare, and transportation cases are free to qualified students. This internship program runs from April 1st-15th, applications open March 8th and are due by March 24th. This is a paid internship that equates to $300 for five days of participation for teens at least 16 years or older. This internship is field-based and gives teens the opportunity to gain experience in restoration. This Youth Program targets "young people who are ages 14-24, low income and may need help to complete an educational program or find and hold employment. To be low income one must be receiving welfare or food stamps, homeless, a foster child, or have a family income that meets the income guidelines. Participants may receive a range of services including 1j occupational skills training; 2) career counseling; 3) internships; 4) job placements; 5) mentoring; 6) tutoring; 7) leadership development; 8) financial literacy; 9) entrepreneurial skills training; 10) local labor market and employment services; 11) postsecondary education and training transition support; 12) workforce preparation and training activities designed for specific career clusters; and 13) additional support services."
