📖 What is a crisis? (Show/Hide)

A crisis is a state of feeling overwhelmed by emotions and normal coping mechanisms aren’t helping. You might be feeling confused, vulnerable, anxious, afraid, angry, guilty, hopeless, and helpless. It is important to know that crises are different for everyone. If you are feeling this way, reach out to the crisis line that best fits your support needs because you are not alone in this feeling!

How to report child abuse

Description:
1) Call 911 and the Dept. of Children, Youth and Families at 1-866-363-4276. This is a toll free number available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can help when you see or hear about child abuse. 2) When calling, please provide as much information as possible. The more accurate information you provide, the better equipped professionals will be to assess the child's safety. A) Name, birth date, and address of the child, B) Name, address, and phone number of the child's parents or guardian, C) The nature of the extent of the abuse or neglect. D) Any evidence of previous incidents, E) Identity of the perpetrator, F) Any other information which may be helpful to establish the cause of the child's abuse or neglect.

RCW 26.44.020 (1) "Abuse or neglect" means sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, female genital mutilation as defined in RCW 18.130.460, or injury of a child by any person under circumstances which cause harm to the child's health, welfare, or safety, excluding conduct permitted under RCW 9A.16.100; or the negligent treatment or maltreatment of a child by a person responsible for or providing care to the child. An abused child is a child who has been subjected to child abuse or neglect as defined in this section. (2) "Child" or "children" means any person under the age of eighteen years of age. Local Salish Regional Crisis Line

Description:
Local crisis line for Kitsap, Clallam, and Jefferson County providing resources, referrals, and mobile outreach teams. If you are in need of support services but don’t want to talk on the phone, you can also submit a request under "SYNC Request". This is not an immediate service, but you will be contacted by someone within 72hrs of sending the request.


National Runaway Safeline

Call: 1-800-786-2929 | Live chat option on the website as well as email. If you are running away, they can provide resources to get support as well as cover the cost of a bus ticket to get home when ready.


National Suicide Prevention Hotline

This resource is free, confidential, and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Press 1 if you are a veteran, 2 for Spanish, 3 for the Trevor Project, and 4 for the Native and Strong Lifeline.


Self Harm Crisis Line

The Dove House

This crisis line is aimed to support victims of abuse, assault, and domestic violence in Jefferson County. They are also available to support those in recovery from homelessness, mental illness, substance, and other traumatic life experiences. Dove house can work with any body from the age 13 and up, if they are 12 or under, they need a parent's permission
