Description:
This foundation is focused on supporting culture and education in Jefferson County for people 17 or older. No college experience is needed and people aren’t required to have a high school diploma or GED. All the tuition, books, course materials, childcare, and transportation cases are free to qualified students. The only requirement is to be able to read a newspaper in english, willingness to do the assignments and complete the course.

West Sound Tech is a ten school district educational cooperative serving students in the Bremerton, Central Kitsap, Chimacum, North Kitsap, North Mason, Peninsula, Quilcene, Bainbridge Island, South Kitsap and Port Townsend School Districts providing advanced career and technical programming preparing students for career and college. Courses include: 3D Animation and Gaming, Automotive Technology, Collision Repair, Construction, Cosmetology, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, Esthetics, Fire Science, HVAC Tech, Professional Med, Maritime Satellite, and Welding.
WST provides opportunity for students between the ages of 16 and 21 or in grades 11 or 12 to engage in advanced career and technical education programming as part of the public educational system at no cost to the student. This provides students with the opportunity to get a jump-start on a post-secondary education and introduction to living-wage career opportunities.
Our students learn the technical knowledge and skills to prepare them for advanced placement in apprenticeships, technical schools, two and four-year colleges and universities, or go directly to entry-level employment in their career interest area.
