📖 Getting Health Insurance... (Show/Hide)

Getting Health Insurance:
If you are no longer on your parents insurance, you can apply for Apple Health - Washington State Health Care. Applying for free or low-cost health care is free and takes about 20-45 minutes to complete the application. Apple health can cover medical, dental, behavioral health, and vision care. Even if you are not in need of these needs immediately, it is important to have health insurance before an emergency or healthcare is needed. To apply, go to https://www.hca.wa.gov and get health coverage today!

What is a primary care provider and why it’s important to have one:
In the US healthcare system, having a primary care provider is the main way to access healthcare quickly and efficiently. Primary care providers are the first line of defense against illness, chronic conditions, injury, and they promote your wellbeing. A primary care provider is the first doctor you see for health issues and check-ups, if other medical support is needed, they can write referrals for other providers. Getting an initial appointment with a primary care provider can take a few weeks or months but once care is established, it is easy to get in to see them within a few days or weeks.
