📖 How to get a driver's license... (Show/Hide)
1) Ages 15-17: Once you turn 15, you can start working towards getting your license. At 15 you can enroll in a driving course but you must be 15 1/2 to take the written test since the state requires people to be 16 to actually get a driver's license.
1a) Apply for a Washington Drivers License number. You may already have a valid Washington State ID, this will have a number on it. Apply for the number here: https://www.dol.wa.gov/pre-apply-online
1b) Learn how to drive! The state of Washington requires people under the age of 18 to complete a driving course. You can enroll in and complete a driving course, this can be done at the Northwest Driving. (See link on this site) You will need to give your Washington Drivers License number to the school. The driving school will support you getting your permit and license.
2) Ages 18 and older: Once you turn 18, you are not required to enroll in a driving course to get your license, however it’s recommended. The local driving school is the Northwest Driving School. (See link on this site)
